MNS was started in 1888, by the Britishers. They came India with only 10 nurses with them. Then in 1926, the induction of Indian women started. And this service got  legalized in 1950.In 1954, the first ruling of the government came about the ranking, promotions, role, etc. in the starting MNS is for army only but later they serve for air force and navy. Though the navy has its own INS Asvini. But the air force did not have their own hospitals. There is hierarchy of hospitals in forces, the very first is MI room like a regimental level, on
