Another Army Helicopter make an emergency landing in Pathankot

Two days after the Indian Army helicopter sank in the Ranjit Sagar Dam, another helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Pathankot. It is being told that due to a technical snag in the helicopter, it had to be landed in the fields of Mamoon village on late Thursday evening. Its pilot and co-pilot are both safe. On receiving information about the landing, the army officers reached the spot and sealed the area. A team of experts has been called to check the flaws in the helicopter.

On the other hand, after taking off from Mamoon Cantt on Tuesday morning, the two pilots of the helicopter which crashed in the lake of Ranjit Sagar Dam of the Army could not find any clue even on the third day. Pilots Lt Col AS Bath and Captain Jayant Joshi are missing since the accident. Special teams have been called from Delhi to search for both the pilots. Due to the high depth of the lake, it has become difficult to find both. Army spokesman Lt Col Davinder Anand said that the search operation is going on.

The helicopter crashed at Palahi village near Kathua in Jammu 20 minutes after taking off the exercise. The lake in which the helicopter fell is spread over an area of ​​90 square km. 60 percent of the lake falls in Jammu and Kashmir and 40 percent in Punjab. The depth of the lake is about 200 feet. However, the search operation is going on in the lake and divers are continuously searching for the pilots.

The local police have got two eyewitnesses of this accident. Hemraj was grazing cattle in Kuth village of Jammu when the accident happened. He saw the helicopter falling rapidly in the lake. Within moments, the helicopter sank into the lake with a bang. Hemraj says that he did not see anyone coming out of the lake after the accident. Another eyewitness, Arpan Thakur of Uchhadra in Punjab region, says that the helicopter fell into the water rapidly, but no one came out of the water.
