India hosts NSA-level summit on Afghanistan, 07 countries attend
India has hosted a regional summit on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, to discuss the ongoing situation in neighboring Afghanistan, following the fall of the democratically elected government in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s takeover of this country. The conference is chaired by India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and his counterparts from Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have also attended the conference. Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar To Be Next Indian Navy Chief
The Central Government has appointed Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar as the next Navy Chief. He is currently the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command. He will take over his new office on November 30. The Ministry of Defense has given this information. The current Navy Chief, Admiral Karambir will retire from service on November 30, 2021. In a first, NDA to admit 20 women cadets next year
NDA to admit women cadets : The Supreme Court recently allowed the inclusion of women candidates in the entrance examination of the National Defense Academy (NDA). Now according to News18.com, next year around 20 women cadets will be recruited under NDA, who will serve in the three services in different positions. A senior defence official said the requirement was placed by the Personal Services Headquarters. According to News18, out of the 20 women cadets, the army will have the largest force of about 10 women officers, followed by the Indian Air Force and the Navy with about 5 officers each.
